Mantel Makeovers

Out with the old and in with the new, the theme of each new year.  So why do we often find ourselves doing 'out with the old' and 'in with the old' replacing our holiday mantel decorations with the same old same old,  family photos, random collectibles, a group of STUFF that doesn't wow you or your guests? Instead, here are some inspiring new mantel designs that reflect each owners unique style. Make your mantel happy in the new year.

If your style is more modern, try an  amazing display of
found objects and modern art. We balance the small against
the large and give you a focal point both up close and from a distance.

Every home needs a large round mirror and this is a great example.
It reflects the candlelight and chandelier.  There are only 2 colors used
keeping the design clean and coordinating with the overall rooms palette.
Again, pairing small objects (at eye level) with large is a must. Pinterest

A little bit rustic, a little bit glam.  Greenery on the mantel is always great.
Topiaries provide balance and a bit of traditional flair.  The tiny print
makes your guests want to get closer and view it's detail.

Assymetry (the horse objet, with nothing to balance
on the other side) gives this traditional mantel a twist.
A single large piece of art hung 2-3 inches above the mantel
is always right.  Note the similarity in size of the artwork
and the fireplace itself, providing balance.

If you don't have a mantel, create one.  Place it above
the TV to create a beautiful focal point and balance.
