1. Make sure the tv is not mounted too high. It needs to be at eye level when you are seated or it will be uncomfortable to watch.
2. Add beautiful objects, art or collectibles like you see here, taking the eye off the tv when it is not in use.
3. Create balance, a tv is typically large and heavy and so you need to balance that with furnishings, shelving, artwork etc... so that your room does not seem lopsided. Here, we've used chunky shelving on the left and draperies on the right to do just that.
